Somatic screen

Eight small movements

For each movement, hold for ten seconds and listen to your tinnitus. Then rate whether the sound changed compared to neutral. The whole thing takes about two minutes.

Sit in a quiet room. Do each movement gently — none of these should hurt. If a movement causes sharp pain, skip it.

Clench your jaw

Bite your back teeth together firmly — not painfully — for ten seconds. Listen to the tinnitus while you do it.

Listen for: Pitch shift, loudness change, or the sound appearing in one ear more than before.
